October 25 – Governor Newsom issues proclamation declaring Larry Itliong Day

November – Congress passed the resolution (H. RES. 780),[20] officially recognizing October as Filipino American History Month.
1965
September – Filipino-American organizer Larry Itliong leads a group of Filipino-American grape workers to a first strike.
1930
Watsonville riots – A period of racial violence that took place in Watsonville, California, from January 19-23, involving violent assaults on Filipino American farm workers by local residents opposed to immigration.
1763
Filipino Americans establish their first recorded North American settlement in St. Malo, Louisiana after escaping forced labor and enslavement during the Spanish galleon trade.
1587
October 18 - "Luzonians" arrive in Morro Bay, California. These people were slaves, prisoners, and crew on the galleon ship Nuestra Senora de Buena Esperanza, under the command of Spanish Captain Pedro de Unamuno.
